Next to the send button is a selector that sets how hard veridive works on your answer — how deeply it reasons and how widely it searches. Higher modes produce richer answers and use more credits; lighter modes are faster and cheaper. The options are named for what they do, and they differ a little between DeepQuery, DeepContext and plain Chat.
In DeepQuery
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default | Answers fast at the lowest cost |
| Thinking | Reasons through tougher questions |
| Pro | Digs deepest into hard topics |
| Extended Research Max | Searches wider across YouTube |
In DeepContext
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default | Answers fast at the lowest cost |
| Thinking | Reasons through tougher questions |
| Pro | Digs deepest into hard topics |
| Extended Research Max | Reads deeper across your sources |
In Chat
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Instant | Replies instantly and reliably |
| Thinking | Reasons through tougher questions |
| Pro | Uses the strongest model |
| Pro Extended Max | Thinks with maximum context |
Which to pick? Start on Default / Instant for everyday questions. Move up to Thinking or Pro for nuanced or hard topics. Extended Research (DeepQuery & DeepContext) and Pro Extended (Chat) are the deepest settings and are available on the Max plan.
Credits: deeper modes read and reason more, so they cost more credits. The app shows the estimate before heavy actions — see how credits work.
