XIAOMI Robot Vacuum 5: Create & Edit Room Maps with Xiaomi Home App

Creating a Room Map

• 💡 Ensure your XIAOMI Robot Vacuum 5 is connected to the Xiaomi Home app.
• 🚀 If no map exists, tap 'Start quick setup' or navigate to 'Map list' > 'Create a new map' and press 'Start' to initiate mapping.
• 🤖 The robot will begin mapping your room; wait for it to complete its run.

Editing the Room Map

• 📌 Once a map is created, tap the pen icon on the main robot menu to enter the map editor.
• 🗺️ The editor allows for creating restricted areas, editing rooms, adding furniture, setting floor materials, and configuring carpet behavior.

Setting Restricted Areas

• ⚠️ Use the virtual wall tool to block off areas the robot should not access.
• 🧹 'Vacuuming and mopping restricted areas' prevent mopping or cleaning in specific zones.
• ✅ Save your selections by tapping the checkmark icon.

Room and Furniture Configuration

• ✂️ The 'Edit rooms' option allows you to divide a room into multiple sections or merge existing rooms back together.
• 🛋️ Use 'Add furniture' to mark the location and size of furniture, helping the robot navigate around obstacles.
• 🧱 Set floor materials like tile or wood, enabling the robot to adjust its cleaning strategy.

Carpet Settings and Saving

• 💨 For carpets, select the carpet zone on the map and choose preferences such as 'vacuum is only on carpets', 'carpet boost', 'carpet avoidance', or 'carpet crossing'.
• 💾 Save all your map edits and settings by pressing the checkmark icon.
• 📄 The 'Map list' option lets you switch between different saved maps.
