Key Provisions of the US Peace Plan

• 🗺️ The US-drafted peace plan would require Ukraine to cede battlefield gains made since February 2022 to Russia, encompassing almost 15% of its territory.
• 🛡️ Ukraine would also have to give up control of the rest of Donetsk, which it currently holds, to Russia. This territory would become a neutral, demilitarized buffer zone controlled by Moscow.

NATO and Military Restrictions

• 🚫 Under the plan, Ukraine would be prohibited from joining NATO or any US-led military alliance.
• 🤝 NATO would commit to not expanding further, a significant demand from Russia.
• 💂 NATO troops would not be stationed in Ukraine, and Kyiv would be forced to cap its army size at 600,000 troops.

Legal and Financial Repercussions

• ⚖️ Ukraine would have to drop legal cases seeking to prove war crimes by Moscow, which Russia denies.
• 💰 Western governments have frozen approximately $300 billion of Russian assets. The US plan proposes Russia hand over $100 billion to Washington for Ukraine's reconstruction, with the US receiving 50% of the profits from this work.
• 💸 Ukraine would also be unable to seek court reparations from Russia for war damages.
