Remembering the October 7th Attack

• 🗓️ Two years ago, on October 7th, Hamas launched an attack on Israel, which led to the ongoing war in Gaza.
• 💔 Hamas terrorists targeted army bases, farming communities, and the Nova Music Festival, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the kidnapping of 251 others.
• 🕊️ As of today, 48 hostages remain in Gaza, with Israel estimating that around 20 are still alive.

Commemorations and Rallies

• 🕯️ To mark this solemn anniversary, numerous memorial events are planned throughout the day at sites of the attacks and in Tel Aviv.
• 🇺🇸 A rally for the remaining hostages is also scheduled in Washington D.C.

Peace Talks and Roadmap for Gaza

• 🇪🇬 High-level peace talks are currently underway in Egypt, involving negotiators such as US envoy Steve Woff and Jared Kushner.
• 🗺️ They are discussing a 20-point roadmap for peace, which includes ending the fighting and the release of hostages within 72 hours.
• 🤝 In exchange for hostage release, Israel would free over 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and eventually withdraw from Gaza.
• ⚠️ A significant hurdle remains as Hamas has not agreed to disarming or destroying their weapons and infrastructure, nor has a plan been agreed upon for who will rule Gaza after they relinquish power.
