Monitoring Tropical Development Areas

• 📍 Three spots are currently being monitored for potential development in the Atlantic.
• 📈 The most imminent threat is an area west of Bermuda with a 70% chance of development in the next 48 hours.
• 🟡 A second area, a yellow blob, has a low potential for development within the next 7 days.
• 🌊 A third, larger area in the Atlantic has a 40% chance of development within the next seven days.

Imminent System Off Carolina Coast

• 💨 An area of low pressure off the Carolina coastline is well-defined on satellite and future track.
• ⛈️ It is currently attached to a cold front but is expected to separate and gain tropical characteristics within the next day or so.
• 🌀 If it develops, it will likely become a tropical depression or tropical storm, potentially named Dexter.
• 🌊 Warm water temperatures, especially along the Gulf Stream (up to 85 degrees), are supporting this development.

Outlook for US Impact

• 🚢 The system off the Carolina coast is expected to move into the Atlantic away from the US by Monday and Tuesday.
• 🌍 Another system being watched in the Atlantic is also expected to recurve north and stay out to sea.
• ⚠️ While there is an uptick in activity, there is currently no imminent threat to the United States, including southeast Texas.
