Toshiba Dynabook Tecra: Set Up Without a Microsoft Account Using Command Prompt

Initial Setup Steps

• 🌍 Select your country or region and then your keyboard layout.
• 🌐 Avoid connecting to the internet at this stage; if already connected, disconnect or move away from the router.

Bypassing the Microsoft Account

• ⌨️ Press Shift + F10 simultaneously to open the command prompt window.
• 💻 Type the command OOBE\bypassNRO (using backslash, not forward slash) and press Enter.
• 🔄 The laptop will restart to continue the setup process.

Creating a Local Account

• 🌍 After restart, select your country/region and keyboard layout again.
• 🚫 Choose the "I don't have internet" option when prompted.
• 👤 Enter your desired local account name.
• 🔒 You can set a password or skip it by clicking next; a password is recommended for account security.
• ❓ If a password is set, you will need to answer three security questions to aid in account recovery.

Finalizing Setup

• 📸 Optionally set up face recognition and/or a PIN for login.
• ✅ Review and select your preferred privacy and settings options.
• 🔌 Once setup is complete, you can connect to the internet via the network icon.
