• 🚂 The speaker and five friends exhibited their Harefield Road London Underground model railway for three days (Friday-Sunday) at The Greatest Gathering event in Derby.
• 💡 The event was described as an "unbelievable" and "once in a lifetime" experience, with the team having the "time of their lives."

Exploring the Exhibition

• 🚄 The gathering featured a vast array of real-life trains and equipment, including iconic steam locomotives like Flying Scotsman, Bahamas, Blue Peter, Clan Line, and Sarah Siddens.
• 🚁 Other notable exhibits included the Network Rail helicopter, various diesel locomotives (e.g., 37s, 47s, 58s, 66s, 69s, 73s, 99s), the 4TC London Underground stock, and the Florence inspection saloon.
• 🛠️ The speaker also explored the trade stands and workshops, noting the extensive range of model railway products and manufacturers.

Harefield Road's Success

• ✅ The Harefield Road model railway performed "absolutely beautifully" throughout the event, attracting large queues of people and receiving positive public feedback.
• 🎮 Even Tim Dunn visited the layout and enjoyed playing with the remote control car, creating "carnage" and fun.

Future Plans for the Model Railway

• 🏡 The speaker has decided to resurrect Harefield Road in their log cabin, planning a shortened 17x8 ft version with a new branch line and a re-laid fiddle yard for increased capacity.
• 🗓️ Several upcoming shows are planned for the model railway, including Rapido Rails, the AGR Model Railway Store open day, and The Great Electric Train Show, which will be Harefield's last outing for 2025.
