Loss of a Beloved Educator

Heroic Camper Evacuations

• 🚌 Nearly a dozen bus drivers from Kerrville ISD risked their lives to rescue approximately 900 campers from two devastated camps, La Huna and Mystic.
• 📞 The superintendent, Dr. Brent Ringo, received a frantic call about 400 stranded campers at Camp La Huna and quickly mobilized bus drivers and school staff.
• ⚠️ The rescue operation involved navigating through immense devastation, with buses unable to reach the camps directly, requiring campers to be brought to pickup points by others.
• 🤝 After rescuing campers from Camp La Huna, additional buses were dispatched to assist the National Guard in evacuating another 300 campers from Camp Mystic.
