Tallahassee Police Chief Discusses FSU Campus Shooting Investigation

Initial Response and Investigation Lead

• 🚨 Tallahassee Police Department officers, along with other city and county law enforcement, responded immediately to the shooting at Florida State University.
• 🔍 Upon arrival and assessment, the Tallahassee Police Department was asked to take the lead on the investigation in consultation with FSU.
• ⚖️ The department will be leading both the officer-involved shooting aspect and the homicide portion of the investigation.

Ongoing Investigation and Information Release

• 🗺️ The investigation covers multiple crime scenes across a very large area, with potentially hundreds or thousands of witnesses.
• 🔒 Due to the active and ongoing nature of the investigation, the information that can be released is currently limited.
• 📢 The department assures that any available information will be released to the public as soon as it becomes possible.
