• 🛠️ The Heer Aen de Wan Meeting Center Foundation is undergoing a significant renovation, focusing on upgrading its kitchen facilities.
• 💡 The goal is to install a professional kitchen to better serve users and enable larger cooking activities.
• ✅ The old kitchen has been removed, and the installation of the new one, including the floor, is the final step before completion.

Community Hub and History

• 🏡 Opened in 1971, the building has historically served as a vital meeting place for various associations and clubs, including choirs, dance groups, and scouting.
• 🤝 It currently hosts activities for groups like the Zonnebloem, elderly associations, harmony orchestras, singing choirs, Budo Club, and table tennis club.
• 🎯 The center aims to be a central meeting point for both associations and residents, fostering community spirit.

Vision and Volunteer Efforts

• 🌱 A new board, comprised of volunteers, took over two years ago with the ambition to give the building a facelift.
• 💰 The renovation, including LED lighting and painting, was made possible through fundraising and volunteer work, notably by Tini and John Retra.
• 🧑‍🍳 Future plans include offering low-cost meals for lonely residents once a week and expanding social activities like coffee gatherings.
• 📣 There is an open call for a volunteer cook to help realize the vision of providing meals to the community.
