Accessing the Screen Recorder

  • 👆 Swipe down from the right side of the screen to open Quick Settings.
  • 🛠️ If the Screen recorder tile is missing, tap Edit, find the tile, and tap the green plus icon to add it.
  • ✅ Tap the checkmark to confirm changes and have the Screen recorder tile available.

Configuring Recorder Settings

  • ⚙️ Hold the Screen recorder tile to access its settings before starting a recording.
  • 🖼️ Adjust resolution (default 1080p) and video quality/bitrate (lower to save space, higher for better motion clarity).
  • 🧭 Orientation can be set to auto, maintaining the initial recording orientation.
  • 🎙️ Select the sound source: system, microphone, none, or both (use headphones for 'both').
  • 💨 Set the frame rate to 60fps for smooth recordings, as higher rates may be redundant online.

Recording and Saving

  • ▶️ Tap the Screen recorder tile to bring up the overlay controls and then tap Record to begin.
  • 🚫 The overlay controls are not visible in the final recording.
  • ⏹️ Tap the red square button on the overlay to stop the recording.
  • 🖼️ Saved recordings can be found in the Gallery app under the 'Screenshots & Screen recordings' album.

Protected App Limitations

  • ⚠️ Certain apps like Netflix and Spotify may block screen recording due to privacy and security features.
  • 🔒 This is an Android feature implemented by apps to protect their content, even if you haven't agreed to terms of service.
