• 🛠️ Replacing a shark bite valve with a PEX style valve in a recessed box was done to improve the plumbing system and prepare for a permanent water solution.

Appliance Acquisition Journey

• 🚗 An early morning trip to Anchorage was necessary to pick up a new washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher, replacing older, less efficient units.
• ⚠️ The journey was made challenging by icy roads and black ice, extending a typical four-hour drive to five or six hours in both directions.
• 📦 Upon arrival, the team had to carefully inspect new appliances for damage, a common issue due to the long travel distance to their remote location.

Appliance Installation & Adjustments

• 🧺 The washing machine and dryer were installed, with the dryer requiring a conversion from natural gas to propane using a specific orifice and regulator adjustment.
• 🍽️ The dishwasher installation faced initial hurdles, including a broken spinner part and the need to temporarily route the drain hose into the sink until a permanent drain connection could be made.
• 🌬️ The dryer's powerful vacuum effect necessitates cracking a window during use due to the lack of a makeup air system, similar to cooking and showering.
