• 🚨 NYPD officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Flapish section of southern Brooklyn.
• 🎯 At approximately 7:30 PM, officers patrolling Ocean Avenue heard gunshots and encountered two individuals involved in a shootout.
• ⚡ Officers exited their vehicle, drew their weapons, and fired at one of the individuals closest to them, striking him at least once.

Suspect and Recovered Evidence

• 🔫 A Ruger 9mm handgun and numerous 9mm shell casings were recovered at the scene.
• 🏥 The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ednerson Bedau, was transported to Kings County Hospital and is in stable condition.
• 👨‍⚖️ Bedau is a two-time convicted violent felon currently on parole until 2030, previously arrested for shooting someone and violent commercial robbery.
• 🗓️ He was released from prison just two months prior to this incident, on June 10th, 2025.
