NTSB Preliminary Report: Two Endeavor CRJs Collide at LaGuardia Airport

Incident Overview

• ✈️ On October 1st, 2025, at approximately 21:56 local time, two Endeavor CRJ aircraft, flight 5155 and flight 5047, collided at the intersection of taxiways Mike and Alpha at LaGuardia Airport.
• ⚠️ One flight attendant sustained minor injuries; there were no other reported injuries among the 28 passengers and crew on flight 5155, nor the 57 passengers and crew on flight 5047.

Aircraft Movements and Collision Sequence

• 🗺️ Flight 5047 landed and was taxiing on taxiway Bravo, intending to turn onto taxiway Mike and then lane 12.
• ➡️ Flight 5155 had pushed back and was taxiing on taxiway Alpha.
• 💥 The collision occurred when flight 5047, turning onto taxiway Mike, was struck by the right wing of flight 5155 at the intersection of taxiways Mike and Alpha.
• 📉 Flight 5047 stopped abruptly as it approached the intersection, and approximately two seconds later, the collision occurred.

Air Traffic Control Communications

• 🗣️ Ground controller instructed flight 5047 to taxi via Bravo, Mike, and onto lane 12, which required crossing taxiway Alpha.
• 📞 Flight 5155 was instructed to taxi via Alpha and Echo to hold short of runway 4 and to give way to another Endeavor airplane at taxiway Mike.
• ❓ The captain of flight 5155 did not recall hearing the instruction to give way to another aircraft, stating he was focused on calculating performance numbers for landing.

Aircraft Damage and Investigations

• 🔬 Both aircraft experienced substantial damage: flight 5047 had damage to its nose and captain's windshield, while flight 5155 sustained damage to the outboard section of its right wing.
• 🗂️ The Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR) from both aircraft were recovered and sent to the NTSB for analysis.
