Long Island Honors Hostages on 2-Year Anniversary of Hamas Attack on Israel

Honoring Captain Omair Neutra

• 🇺🇸 Captain Omair Neutra, a 21-year-old Israeli soldier and the only American-born Long Islander among the hostages, was killed by Hamas.
• 💔 His parents, Ronin and Orna, attended the gathering with the hope of receiving his remains for burial.
• 🏞️ A street sign and a childhood playground in Plainview were renamed in his honor, offering a measure of healing to his grieving family.

Continued Advocacy for Hostages

• 🚶‍♀️ The group "Run for Our Lives" marched to support the 48 hostages still in captivity, marking their 100th consecutive week of walking.
• 🌍 Neutra's parents and younger brother are in Washington D.C., participating in peace talks with the hope of bringing his body back for burial.
• 🕯️ The events took place on the 2-year anniversary of what is described as the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
