Accessing BitLocker Recovery Keys

• 💡 To find your BitLocker recovery key, use a separate device with internet access and navigate to aka.ms/myrecoverykey.
• 🔑 Sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your Lenovo laptop to view a table of recovery keys.
• 🔍 Identify the correct key by matching the Key ID displayed on your locked device with the Key ID in the table.

Method 1: Recovery Mode from Windows or Lock Screen

• 🚀 To enter recovery mode while Windows is accessible, open the Start menu, hold down the right Shift key, select Power, then Restart.
• 💻 Continue holding Shift until the device reboots and displays a "Please wait" message, then release the Shift key.
• 🖱️ In recovery mode, use arrow keys to navigate and Enter to select; the touchpad may not be functional.

Method 2: Recovery Mode When Windows Won't Start

• ⚠️ If you cannot access Windows, turn on your device, then hold the power button to force shutdown.
• 🔄 Repeat this power on/off cycle two more times. On the third attempt to start, the device should initiate automatic repair.
• 🔧 Once the "Diagnosing your PC" screen appears, press Enter to access the recovery mode.

Navigating Recovery Options and BitLocker

• ⚙️ Within recovery mode, you can access troubleshoot options, advanced options, and startup settings.
• ⚠️ Be aware that BitLocker may trigger upon entering recovery mode, requiring the recovery key.
• ❓ If your device restarts after attempting to enter the recovery key, it might indicate a bypassing system, which is generally a good sign.
