Community Mourns and Demands Justice

• 💔 Friends and family gathered at Lancaster City Hall to hold a vigil and demand justice for Shayla, a 33-year-old mother found dead in the Angeles National Forest.

Allegations of Abuse and Murder

• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Shayla is believed to be a victim of domestic violence, with family and friends alleging years of verbal and physical abuse by her husband, 36-year-old Jose.
• 🏃‍♂️ Jose is accused of killing Shayla as she was preparing to leave him, reportedly fearing he would kidnap their three children.

Husband Flees with Children, Body Discovered

• 📹 Surveillance video shows Jose dragging a tarp or blanket across the couple's courtyard the night before Shayla disappeared, believed to be her body wrapped inside.
• ✈️ Jose and the couple's three children were reported missing on August 12th and were later located in Peru, with the children placed in protective custody.
• 🌲 Shayla's body was discovered in the Angeles National Forest on August 16th.
