John 19: Jesus' Crucifixion, Death, and Burial

The Crucifixion of Jesus

• ✝️ Jesus was handed over to be crucified, carrying his own cross to the place called Golgotha.
• 📜 A sign reading "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews" was placed on the cross, written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek, despite protests from the chief priests.
• 🎲 The soldiers gambled for Jesus' clothes, dividing them and casting lots for the seamless undergarment, fulfilling scripture.
• 💔 Jesus, from the cross, entrusted the care of his mother to the disciple whom he loved.

Final Moments and Death

• 💧 Jesus declared "I am thirsty" and, after being given wine vinegar, proclaimed "It is finished" before bowing his head and giving up his spirit.
• 🦴 The legs of the two thieves crucified with Jesus were broken to hasten their death, but Jesus' legs were not broken as he had already died.
