Preparing for Recovery Mode

  • 💡 For Windows users, download the "Apple Devices" app from the Microsoft Store, noting its low rating.
  • 💻 Mac users should use the Finder application to access their iPhone.
  • 🔌 Ensure your iPhone 17 Pro Max is connected to your computer via USB.

Entering Recovery Mode

  • ⬆️ Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  • ⬇️ Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  • 🔘 Press and hold the Power button until the "slide to power off" prompt appears, then continue holding.
  • ⚡ Keep holding the Power button as the device turns off and begins to restart.
  • 🔌 Continue holding the Power button until the Recovery Mode screen (showing a cable and laptop) appears.

Understanding Recovery Mode Options

  • ⚠️ The computer will display a message indicating a problem, but this simply means the iPhone is in Recovery Mode.
  • 🛠️ You will see two primary options: Update or Restore your iPhone.

Exiting Recovery Mode

  • ⬆️ Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  • ⬇️ Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  • 🔘 Press and hold the Power button.
  • ⚫ Release the Power button the moment the screen turns black.
  • 🚀 The iPhone will then boot back into iOS, and you can unplug the cable.
