Inter Miami and MLS Open New Sensory Room for Students with Special Needs

Community Impact Project

• ⚽ Inter Miami CF and Major League Soccer (MLS) unveiled a refurbished sensory room at F.S. Tucker K–8 Center in Miami.
• 🤝 This initiative, a partnership with the nonprofit Culture City, aims to support students with autism and other sensory needs.

Sensory Room Features

• 🧠 The room is designed to provide a safe and calming space for students to self-regulate and return to learning.
• 💧 Features include "airwalls" that simulate water effects without using actual water, utilizing static energy.
• 🌈 A "nanoleaf panel" offers tactile and visual feedback, changing colors when touched.

Player Involvement and Outreach

• 🌟 Inter Miami players Ian Frey, Yannik Bright, and Noah Allen participated in the unveiling and interacted with students.
• 🎁 100 sensory bags containing items like noise-canceling headphones and fidget spinners were distributed to students.
• 🎯 These bags are intended for use at events, such as Inter Miami matches, to help manage overwhelming sensory experiences.

Long-Term Commitment

• 🏫 This is one of two Culture City sensory rooms planned for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, with the second to be installed in 2026.
• 💖 The project reflects the mantra "football is for all", ensuring broader community access and experience.
