Hytale: How to Host a Local Server and Play with Friends

Setting Up a Local Hytale Server

• 💡 To start playing Hytale with friends, you need to set up a local server from an existing world.
• 🚀 Select the world you wish to share and wait for it to fully load before proceeding.

Enabling Online Play and Sharing

• 🔑 Press the 'Escape' key and navigate to 'Online Play' within the game menu.
• ✅ Toggle 'Allow other players to join' to the 'On' position.
• 🔒 You have the option to set a password for your server, which can either be included in the share code or sent separately to your friends.
• 💾 Save your settings; this process may take a few seconds.

Connecting Friends to Your Server

• 📤 Once settings are saved, copy the generated join/share code to your clipboard.
• 💬 Send this code to your friends via message or any preferred communication method.
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 For friends to join, they need to go to the 'Servers' tab in Hytale, select 'Join via code', and paste the code you provided.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

• ⚠️ If friends are unable to connect, it might be due to router settings.
• 🌐 Some routers require 'Universal Plug and Play' (UPnP) to be enabled, or manual 'port forwarding' to be set up.
