HP Chromebook 14: How to Run Hardware Diagnostics (Storage & Memory)

Accessing Recovery Mode

• 💡 To begin diagnostics on your HP Chromebook 14, first power off the device completely.
• 🔑 Then, simultaneously hold the Escape and Refresh keys on the keyboard.
• ⚡ While holding these keys, briefly press the power button, then release the power button but continue holding the Escape and Refresh keys to enter recovery mode.

Launching Diagnostics

• 🎯 Once in recovery mode, use the arrow keys to navigate to and select the option to 'Launch diagnostics'.

Running Hardware Tests

• 💾 You can perform a storage self-test to check the health of your device's storage.
• 🧠 A memory check (quick or full) is also available to test the RAM.
• 📊 Additionally, you can view storage health information for more details.
• ✅ Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the selected tests and review the results.

Exiting Diagnostics

• 🔌 After completing the diagnostics, you can power off the computer to exit the diagnostic mode.
