How to Send a Direct Message (DM) on X (Formerly Twitter) App

Accessing the Messages Section

• 📱 Open the X application on your phone.
• ✉️ Tap the letter icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen to access your messages section.

Starting a New Direct Message

• ➕ To initiate a new DM, tap the new message button, which is also represented by a plus sign in the bottom right corner.

Finding and Messaging a User

• 🔍 Begin typing the username of the person you wish to DM in the search bar.
• 👤 Select the specific person from the appearing list to navigate to the chat screen.
• ✍️ Type your message in the provided text box.
• ✈️ Hit the send button (the paper plane icon) when you are ready.

Confirmation and Requirements

• ✅ You will see a confirmation that your message has been sent.
• ⚠️ Remember, you can only DM people on X who follow you or have their DMs open to everyone.
