How to Send a Direct Message (DM) on the X App (Formerly Twitter)

Requirements for Direct Messaging on X

• ⚠️ You can only send a direct message on X to users who follow you or have their direct messages open to everyone.

Navigating to the Messages Section

• 📱 Open the X application on your phone.
• ✉️ Tap the letter icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen to access your messages section.

Starting a New Direct Message

• ➕ Tap the new message button or the plus sign in the bottom right corner of the messages screen.
• 🔍 Search for the person you wish to DM by typing their username.
• 👤 Select the specific person from the list that appears to initiate a chat.

Sending Your Message

• ✍️ Type your message in the chat window.
• ✈️ When you are ready to send, tap the send button (represented by a paper plane icon).
• ✅ You will see a confirmation that your message has been sent.
