How to Record Your Screen on the HUAWEI MatePad 12 X (2025)

Accessing the Screen Recorder

• 👆 Swipe down from the top right of the screen to access the quick settings panel.
• 🔍 Look for the Screen Recorder toggle; if it's not visible, tap the plus icon to add it from the list of available toggles.

Starting and Configuring a Recording

• 🎙️ Tap the Screen Recorder toggle to begin. By default, the microphone is enabled to record sound along with media.
• ⚠️ Be aware that the microphone setting is enabled by default, so disable it if you only want to record internal media audio.
• 🚫 The overlay controls, including the timer, are not visible in the final recording.

Recording and Saving

• 🎬 Open any application you wish to record. The overlay allows interaction with the device during recording.
• ⏱️ To stop and save the recording, tap the time display on the overlay.
• 📤 Before it saves, you have an option to share the recording by swiping up on the overlay.

Locating and Organizing Recordings

• 🖼️ Saved screen recordings can be found in the Gallery application under the Photos tab.
• 🗂️ For easier retrieval, navigate to the Albums section and look for the Screenshot album, where recordings are typically stored alongside screenshots.
• ▶️ You can then play back your recordings directly from the gallery.
