How to Install Custom ROM (LineageOS Android 12) on Samsung Galaxy J6+

Preparation and PC Setup

• 💡 Connect to Wi-Fi and check for software updates on your Samsung Galaxy J6+.
• 🔑 Enable Developer Options by tapping the build number in 'About phone' > 'Software information', then enable OEM unlocking.
• ⚠️ Be aware that unlocking the bootloader will factory reset your device; back up your data.
• 💻 On your PC, download ADB, Samsung drivers, and Odin (version 3.14.4).
• 💾 Download TWRP recovery (tar file) and the desired custom ROM (LineageOS 19.1 for Android 12) and MindTheGapps from the provided MEGA link.
• 🗄️ Extract the downloaded tools (Odin, ADB, drivers) and install the Samsung drivers.
• 🚀 Restart your PC to ensure all drivers are installed correctly.

ROM and Recovery Installation

• 📂 Copy the LineageOS ROM and MindTheGapps files to your microSD card.
• 🔌 Power off your device and launch Odin on your PC.
• 📲 Select the TWRP .tar file in the AP section of Odin and ensure 'Auto Reboot' is unchecked in the Options tab.
• ⬇️ Boot your phone into Download Mode by holding both volume keys, connecting the USB cable, and confirming with volume up.
• ✅ Click Start in Odin to flash TWRP; it should say 'Pass' upon completion.
• 🔄 To boot into recovery, hold Volume Down + Power, then quickly switch to Volume Up + Power when the screen turns off, releasing Power when the Samsung logo appears.

Installing Custom ROM and GApps

• 🛠️ In TWRP, swipe to allow modifications, then go to Wipe > Format Data and type 'yes' to confirm.
• 🔄 Perform a factory reset by swiping to confirm.
• 💾 Reboot back into recovery.
• 🔌 Insert the microSD card containing the ROM and GApps into your phone.
• 🚀 Navigate to Install, select your microSD card, choose LineageOS, and swipe to install.
• ➕ Go back, select MindTheGapps, and swipe to install.
• reboot system now to boot into your new custom ROM.
• ✅ After the setup process, verify the installation by checking Settings > About phone for LineageOS 19.1 and Android 12.
