Enabling Private Album on Samsung Galaxy

  • 💡 The Private Album feature in Samsung Galaxy Gallery is now a fully released feature in One UI 8.5, and was initially available in One UI 7.
  • ⚠️ Before enabling, ensure your device software is up to date by checking for updates in Settings > Software Update.

Enabling Private Album on Older One UI Versions

  • ⚙️ For older One UI versions where the feature might be hidden, navigate to Gallery > Settings > About Gallery.
  • 👆 Tap your Gallery version repeatedly until Gallery Labs are enabled.
  • 🔬 Within Gallery Labs, find the Private Folder feature and enable it by switching the toggle on.

Creating and Using Private Albums

  • ➕ After enabling, go back to your albums and tap the plus icon.
  • 🖼️ Select 'Private Album' from the options to create it.
  • ➡️ To move photos and videos, select the media, tap the three-dot icon, and choose 'Move to Private Album'.
  • 🔒 To protect your Private Album, you must set a screen lock for your device (e.g., Pattern, PIN, Password) via Settings > Lock Screen.
  • 🔓 Once a screen lock is set, you can access your Private Album by tapping the three-line icon in Gallery and selecting 'Private Album'.
