How to Enable and Disable HDR on LG Smart TVs (LG 43UA73003LA)

Automatic HDR Detection

• 💡 HDR is typically detected automatically by LG smart TVs when a compatible HDR content source is connected via HDMI.
• 🔑 For automatic detection, both the HDMI source device (like a PS5) and the HDMI cable must support HDR transmission.
• 📺 When an HDR-compatible device is connected and playing HDR content, an HDR icon will appear in the top right corner of the TV screen.

Disabling HDR Manually

• ⚙️ To manually disable HDR, press the gear button on your remote to open quick settings, then navigate to All Settings.
• 🖱️ The path is: General → External devices → HDMI settings.
• 🔌 Select HDMI Deep Color and choose Off to disable HDR.
• 🎮 Disabling HDMI Deep Color may also disable the Game Optimizer feature, which automatically enables HDR.

Re-enabling HDR
