How to Create and Remove User Accounts on a DELL Inspiron 15 Laptop

Accessing Account Settings

• 💡 To manage user accounts on your DELL Inspiron 15, navigate to Settings and then select Accounts.
• 📌 Within the Accounts section, you will find the option for Other users to add or manage accounts.

Creating a New User Account

• 🚀 To add a new user, click on Add account and choose between a Microsoft account or a local account.
• 🔑 For a local account, click 'I don't have this person's sign-in information' and then 'Add a user without a Microsoft account'.
• 👤 Enter the username for the new account and set a password for security; leaving fields blank means no password.
• ❓ You will need to answer three security questions truthfully to aid in account recovery if needed.

Managing and Removing Accounts

• 🗑️ To delete an existing user account, click the down arrow next to the user's name and select Remove.
• ⚙️ You can change an account's type to Administrator or leave it as a Standard user.
• ⚠️ Standard users cannot install apps outside the Microsoft Store without administrator approval or password.

Switching Between Users

• 🔒 To switch users, click the Start button, then the Power icon, and select Lock, or use the keyboard shortcut Windows key + L.
• 💻 On the lock screen, select the desired user from the bottom left corner and enter their password.
• 🔄 Alternatively, while logged in, click the Start button, select your current user, click the three dots, and choose the other user to switch.
