How to Block Keywords on the X App (Formerly Twitter)

Accessing Muted Words Settings

• 📱 Open the X app on your phone and tap your profile picture in the top left corner.
• ⚙️ Scroll down to find and tap on Settings and privacy.
• 🔒 Navigate to the Privacy and safety section.
• 🚫 Select Mute and block, then tap on Muted words to access the keyword blocking feature.

Adding and Configuring Muted Keywords

• ➕ At the bottom of the Muted Words screen, tap the add button.
• ✍️ Type the specific word, hashtag, or phrase you wish to block.
• 🏠 Choose where the muted content should be hidden: from your home timeline, notifications, or both.
• 👥 You can also select whether to mute from anyone or only from people you don't follow.
• ⏳ Decide on the duration for the mute: forever, 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.

Saving and Understanding the Mute

• ✅ Once configured, tap the save button in the top right corner to apply your settings.
• 📉 Posts containing the blocked keywords will no longer appear in your X feed or search results.
