Houston Police Update: Officer-Involved Shooting Following Traffic Accident

Initial Incident and Investigation

• 🚗 Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles involved in a crash, with occupants reporting a third vehicle, a green SUV, had cut them off.

Locating the Suspect Vehicle

• 📡 A general broadcast was issued for the green SUV involved in the incident.
• 🔍 A secondary unit located a green SUV one block south of the accident investigation site.
• ⚠️ Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the sole male occupant, who appeared to be intoxicated.

Officer-Involved Shooting

• 💥 During questioning, the male occupant brandished a pistol.
• 🔫 Officers discharged their firearms, resulting in the male being deceased.
• 🩹 Attempts to provide medical aid were made, but it was quickly realized the individual was deceased.

Department Response and Investigations
