Accessing and Configuring the Hotspot

• 💡 Swipe down from the top right of the screen to access Quick Settings and locate the hotspot toggle.
• 📌 If the toggle isn't visible, it can be found by swiping down further or by accessing the full settings tray and adding it.
• 🔑 To access hotspot settings, hold the hotspot toggle; this allows you to change the randomly generated password (minimum eight characters) and the hotspot name (SSID).

Hotspot Settings and Battery Management

• ⏱️ The auto-off timer can be configured to turn off the hotspot after a set period of inactivity (e.g., 5, 10, or 15 minutes) to conserve phone battery.
• ⚠️ Be aware that the auto-off timer can trigger even if you are actively reading content, so adjusting the duration may be necessary.
• 🔋 While disabling the auto-off timer is an option, it's not recommended as the hotspot feature consumes significant battery.

Understanding AP Bands (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz)

• 📶 The AP Band setting allows you to choose between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
• 🏠 For most situations, 2.4 GHz is recommended due to broader compatibility and better penetration through obstacles.
• 🏙️ 5 GHz is suggested for use in densely populated Wi-Fi areas (like New York City) to potentially mitigate interference and disconnections.
• ⚠️ A key consideration for 5 GHz is that the connecting device must support 5 GHz Wi-Fi (often Wi-Fi 6); otherwise, it will not be able to see or connect to the hotspot.

Hotspot Activation and Connectivity

• ✅ Once settings are configured, tap the hotspot toggle to enable it.
• 📱 A notable feature of the Honor X5c Plus is its ability to run Wi-Fi and hotspot simultaneously.
• 🔗 Other devices can then connect to the hotspot by finding the Honor X5c Plus in their Wi-Fi network list.
• 🔌 To disconnect, simply tap the hotspot toggle again, or let the auto-off timer manage it.
