Genesis 8: Noah and Family Emerge from the Ark

The Waters Recede

• 💧 God remembered Noah and sent a wind, causing the waters to recede from the earth.
• ⛰️ After 150 days, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat, and eventually, the tops of mountains became visible.

Testing the Waters

• 🐦 Noah sent out a raven, which flew back and forth until the waters dried.
• 🕊️ A dove was sent out, but finding no place to perch, returned to Noah.
• 🍃 After seven more days, the dove returned with a freshly plucked olive leaf, signaling that the waters had receded.

Emerging from the Ark

• 🗓️ By the first day of the first month of Noah's 61st year, the earth was dry.
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 God commanded Noah and his family, along with all the creatures, to come out of the ark to multiply on the earth.

A New Beginning and a Covenant

• 🔥 Noah built an altar and offered burnt offerings of clean animals and birds.
• 💖 God smelled the pleasing aroma and promised never again to curse the ground because of humans, nor destroy all living creatures by flood.
• ⚖️ The promise established that as long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, and the seasons, will continue.
