Defense Against Iranian Missile Attacks

• 🏗️ Recognizing the need for a weapon capable of striking such a hardened target, the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) was developed.
• 💡 Weaponization involved extensive modeling, simulation, and hundreds of test shots to ensure the weapon could penetrate and destroy the target.
• ✈️ The GBU-57, a 30,000lb weapon dropped only by the B-2 bomber, is designed to deeply penetrate targets and function underground.
• 💥 Six MOPs were used against each ventilation shaft of the Fordow facility, with the primary kill mechanism being blast and overpressure within the tunnels.

Mission Execution and Bomber Crews
