Driver Stuck in Manhole During Heavy Rain in Houston; Multiple Missing Covers Reported

• 🚗 A driver experienced a scary situation when her car became stuck in an uncovered manhole on Center Street, west of downtown Houston.
• 🌧️ The incident occurred around 12:30 PM during heavy rainfall, with the driver stating she did not see the open manhole due to the intensity of the rain.
• 🛠️ Houston police and a tow truck were on the scene to assist in removing the vehicle, which had its front left wheel lodged in the manhole.

Multiple Manhole Covers Dislodged

• 📍 In addition to the manhole where the car got stuck, at least three manhole covers were reported to have popped out of the ground in the vicinity.
• 🚧 Two of these dislodged covers were located under an underpass near Studemont and Hicks, forcing drivers to navigate around them.
• ⚠️ By the time of reporting, the manholes at the underpass appeared to be covered again, and the one on Center Street was also back in place.

Investigation into Cause
