DIY Barbie Hotel Room with Sliding Glass Door and Balcony

Building the Hotel Room Structure

• 🏠 The project continues from part one, focusing on creating a permanent room for Barbie's hotel, using a poster board room that folds for storage.
• 🖼️ A dollar store frame is repurposed to create a functional sliding "glass" door leading to a balcony.
• 📏 Cardboard from trifolds is used for the back wall and floor, with layers added for strength and white poster board for a smooth finish.

Creating the Sliding Glass Door and Balcony

• 🚪 The glass from a picture frame is replaced with clear plastic from packaging, taped to create a sliding mechanism.
• 🎨 The wall area for the door is cut out, and the frame is attached, with the plastic door sliding within it.
• 🧱 Peel-and-stick concrete-look wallpaper from Dollar Tree is used to cover the exterior of the door frame, and a second frame is added for the balcony.

Assembling the Balcony and View

• 📦 Leftover cardboard is cut and assembled into a balcony floor, side wall, and railing, then covered with contact paper.
• 🏖️ A beach scene poster from the dollar store is glued onto a trifold and trimmed to serve as the view outside the sliding glass door.
• 🎀 Tulle and green ribbon are used to create curtains, adding a softer look to the room.

Furnishing the Hotel Room

• 🛋️ Furniture made in the previous video, including a sofa, bed, and nightstands, is brought into the room.
• 🪞 Ribbon is used to create throw pillows for the sofa.
• ☕ Two tape dispensers are cut and modified to create a desk or table, topped with a piece of clear plastic.
• 🪑 A chair, previously purchased from Amazon, is added to complete the desk area.
• 🌟 The balcony can be stored inside the room when not in use, and the view outside can be changed for variety.
