Canyon Fire Update

• 🔥 The Canyon Fire is burning northeast in Lake Piru, rapidly expanding overnight and forcing thousands to evacuate.
• ⚠️ Evacuation orders are in place for communities including Has Canyon, Val Verde, and Hathaway Ranch.
• 📍 The fire was reported just after 1:30 PM yesterday afternoon near Holzer Canyon, north of Piru.

Firefighting Efforts and Conditions

• 🚒 Approximately 400 personnel are battling the blaze using fixed-wing planes, helicopters, and ground crews.
• ⛰️ Firefighters are contending with steep terrain and very hot conditions, which are expected to continue today.
• 🏠 Flames were seen nearing a boat storage structure and other homes along Has Lee Canyon Road.
