ASUS VivoBook Go: Two Methods to Enter Recovery Mode & Recover BitLocker

Accessing BitLocker Recovery Keys

• 💡 Before entering recovery mode, it's crucial to locate your BitLocker recovery key to prevent data loss.
• 📌 Access your recovery key by navigating to aka.ms/myrecoverykey in a web browser on a separate device.
• 🔑 Log in with your Microsoft account and find the key associated with your device name, key ID, or upload date.

Method 1: Recovery Mode via Windows OS

• 🚀 To enter recovery mode from within Windows, go to Start > Power Options.
• ⚠️ Press and hold the right Shift key while selecting Restart.
• 💻 Continue holding the Shift key until the "Please wait" message appears after your device restarts.
• 🛠️ Once in recovery mode, you can select "Troubleshoot" to access advanced options.

Method 2: Recovery Mode Without OS Access

• ⚡ If your ASUS VivoBook Go won't boot into the OS, turn on the device and immediately shut it down by holding the power button once it starts booting.
• 🔄 Repeat this process of powering on and forcing shutdown two to three times.
• ⏳ Eventually, you will see a "Preparing automatic repair" message, indicating entry into recovery mode.

BitLocker Lockout and Recovery

• 🔒 If your device is locked by BitLocker, you will need the recovery key ID displayed on the screen.
• ✅ Use this ID to find the correct recovery key on aka.ms/myrecoverykey and enter it to regain access.
• 💻 Successfully entering the BitLocker recovery key allows you to proceed and use your device again.
