ASUS VivoBook Go: Set Up Windows Without a Microsoft Account

Initial Setup: Network Disconnection

• ⚠️ Do not connect to the network during the initial setup of your ASUS VivoBook Go.
• 🔌 If already connected, either turn off the router or move out of its signal range.

Accessing Command Prompt

• ⌨️ Use the Shift + F10 key combination to open the Command Prompt (CMD) window.
• 💻 In the CMD window, type the command oobe\bypassnro and press Enter.
• 🔄 The device will restart after executing the command.

Configuring Windows Settings

• 🌍 Select your country or region and press 'Yes'.
• 🖱️ Choose your preferred keyboard input method and click 'Yes'.
• ⏭️ You can skip adding a second keyboard layout if not needed.

Creating a Local Account

• 🚫 On the 'I don't have internet' screen, select this option to proceed without a Microsoft account.
• 💻 You will then be prompted to name your device; enter your desired name and click 'Next'.
• 🔒 You can choose to set a password for your device or skip this step by clicking 'Next' again.

Privacy Settings and Completion

• 📍 Review and configure privacy settings such as location, find my device, diagnostic data, and advertising ID.
• ⚙️ It is recommended to switch off settings that gather data for diagnostics if you prefer more privacy.
• ✅ Click 'Accept' to finalize the settings and complete the Windows setup process.
• 🖥️ The desktop menu will appear, indicating the setup is finished.
