ASUS ROG Ally X: How to Set Up and Customize M1/M2 Back Buttons

Accessing Button Configuration

• 🚀 Open the Armory Crate control center on your ASUS ROG Ally X by pressing the dedicated button or using the Command Center.
• ⚙️ Ensure the Control Mode is set to Auto before proceeding.
• 🎮 Press the Xbox icon to launch the Armory Crate application.

Configuring Back Buttons (M1/M2)

• 👆 Navigate to Settings (gear icon) in the top-left corner and then select Configure.
• 🕹️ Choose between Gamepad Mode or Desktop Mode for your button assignments.
• ✏️ Select either the M1 or M2 button to begin customization.
• ✅ Uncheck the default option to assign new primary and secondary functions.

Assigning Button Actions

• 🎯 Select the desired action type: Gamepad, Custom, Keyboard, Numpad, or Mouse.
• ⌨️ You can also combine keys for advanced shortcuts.
• 🔄 Assign a primary function and then a secondary function to the selected back button.
• 🔁 Repeat the process for the other back button (M1 or M2) to complete the setup.
