Accessing Armory Crate SE

• 💡 To begin, press the Xbox icon on your ASUS ROG Ally X and select Armory Crate from the bar.

Understanding Performance Modes

Creating a Custom Manual Profile

• ➕ Select Manual mode, tap OK, then click the three-dot icon on the right and choose Create New.
• ⚡ This allows adjustment of SPL (Sustained Power Limit), SPPT (Short Period Power Tracking), and FPPT (Fast Burst Power Limit), along with fan curves.

Power Limit Explanations

• 🔋 SPL is the basic power limit for long-term CPU/GPU performance sustain.
• ⏱️ SPPT is the power threshold reached for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes, providing a mid-term boost.
• 💥 FPPT is the power limit for a few seconds, enabling maximum turbo boost during intense load spikes.
• 🔗 These limits are interdependent: higher SPL increases SPPT, and higher SPPT increases FPPT. FPPT cannot be lower than SPPT, and SPPT cannot be lower than SPL.
• ⚠️ Recommended upper thresholds are 20W for SPL, 25W for SPPT, and 30W for FPPT to avoid hardware damage.

Customizing Fan Curves

• 💨 Fan 1 primarily cools the CPU, while Fan 2 cools the GPU and aids airflow.
• 🌡️ Adjust the fan speed percentage by moving the dots on the temperature axes (Celsius or Fahrenheit).
• ❄️ For temperatures below 50°C, fan speeds can be kept lower (e.g., 20-40%).
• 🔥 As temperatures rise above 50°C, increase fan speed (e.g., to 70%) for sustained cooling up to 60-90°C.
• 🔊 At 90°C, enable maximum fan speed, or set a slightly lower speed if noise is a concern.
• 🛠️ Fan 2 can generally use slightly lower values than Fan 1 to balance cooling and noise.

Saving and Applying Your Profile

• ✏️ Tap the three-dot icon again, select Rename, and name your profile (e.g., "Extreme Performance").
• ✅ Tap Apply, then Yes to activate your new custom power profile.
