• 📸 A disappointment was the inability to purchase photographer's permits or slides/DVDs of pictures from museums and sites, limiting photo opportunities.

Travel Tips and Safety

• 🚗 Due to security and safety regulations, renting a car and driving between cities is not permitted; travel requires joining police-escorted caravans.
• 🤝 The trip was undertaken with a well-organized tour agency (Abaca Karigan Kent), featuring licensed Egyptologist guides.
• 🛡️ Despite past security concerns, the overall impression was one of feeling very safe, with a present but unobtrusive security presence, including police escorts on tours and at checkpoints.

Red Sea Diving Experience

• 🐠 While the Red Sea underwater dive was beautiful, the overall experience was hampered by extensive boat travel and logistical issues, resulting in limited bottom time.
• 🚤 Regulations required travel to a central dock and back multiple times, significantly increasing travel time between dive sites.

Reflections on Egypt

• ❤️ Native Egyptians expressed pleasure that visitors came to see the antiquities and beauty of the country, not just to relax on the beach, leading to feelings of extra care and respect.
