6-Acre Pond Construction: From Start to Finish

Pond Project Completion

Equipment and Logistics

Pond Construction Details

• 💧 The pond construction was a two-phase project, with the initial phase involving clearing and burning, and the current phase focusing on dredging and expanding the pond.
• 🏗️ Approximately 22,000 cubic yards of dirt were moved, expanding the pond significantly from its original size.
• 🌊 The pond depth ranges from 4-4.5 ft at the top to about 9 ft in the deeper sections, with fish structure added.
• 📈 The dam was raised by about three feet, and the spillway, featuring a 24-inch pipe, is set a foot above the water level to manage overflow.
• 🌿 45 loads of topsoil were used around the edges and on top, followed by seeding and straw mulching on the dam's front edge.
