2 Corinthians 5: Awaiting a New Body and the Ministry of Reconciliation

The Heavenly Dwelling vs. Earthly Tent

• 💡 We understand that our earthly tent is temporary, and we await a permanent, eternal house in heaven built by God.
• 😔 While in our earthly bodies, we groan and are burdened, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, where our mortal nature will be swallowed by life.
• 🔑 God has given us the Holy Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing our future communion with Him and serving as the beginning of an eternal relationship.

Living by Faith and Pleasing God

• 🚶 We live by faith, not by sight, and while in our earthly bodies, we are away from the Lord.
• ✅ Our goal is to please God, whether we are in our bodies or away from them, focusing on doing good works that are pleasing in His sight.
• 🎯 The ultimate priority should be God, with everything else being secondary, as the concept of 'priorities' implies focusing on the one most important thing.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

• 🤝 We are called to persuade others to reconcile with God, motivated by the compelling love of Christ.
• 💖 Christ died for all, so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him, and this love compels us to spread the gospel.
• 🌍 From now on, we regard no one from a worldly point of view; in Christ, the old has gone, and the new creation has come.
• 🕊️ God has given us the ministry of reconciliation, not counting people's sins against them, and we are Christ's ambassadors, imploring others to be reconciled to God.
• 🌉 We are called to be a bridge to help bring people to God, becoming new people and reflecting God's loving nature to draw others to Him.
