The U-Haul Box Truck Build

• 🚚 Dave purchased a retired 10-foot U-Haul "tiny mover" (2011 GMC Savannah 3500 cutaway chassis) for its nimble size and maneuverability.
• 💡 The build features a full cut-through to the cab for an open feel, inch-and-a-half insulation, and lightweight Luan paneling.
• 🛏️ A full Twiniz bed is positioned horizontally across the back, designed to remain always ready for immediate use.

Interior Features and Amenities

• 🚿 A combination shower and litter box area includes a 3-gallon electric water heater, offering the convenience of showering inside.
• 🔥 A Capiara wood stove was installed for cozy heating, serving as a backup to the primary diesel heater.
• 🍳 The kitchen features an RV sink with a fold-out faucet, a 20-gallon fresh water tank, and a 15-gallon gray water tank.
• 🚽 For waste, Dave uses a litter box for cats and a bucket toilet with a bag system for personal use, preferring natural methods when possible.

Power, Windows, and Storage

• ⚡ The van is equipped with a robust power system: 800 watts of solar, 560 amp hours of lithium batteries, a 3000-watt inverter, a DC-to-DC charger, and a generator.
• 🪟 Dave installed all the windows himself, including an RV exit window at the back and a slide-out window behind the kitchen sink.
• 🚲 The rear rollup door was replaced with a wall, creating space for storing a bicycle and other items in the under-bed storage area.
