Qualifications for Overseers (Bishops)

• 🎯 An overseer must be above reproach, meaning their life is an open book with no inconsistencies.
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 They must be the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach.
• 🚫 Not given to drunkenness, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, and not a lover of money.
• 👨‍👧‍👦 Must manage their own family well, ensuring children obey with proper respect, as this demonstrates their ability to lead God's church.
• ⏳ Must not be a recent convert to avoid conceit and falling into the devil's trap.
• 🤝 Must have a good reputation with outsiders, maintaining integrity both inside and outside the church.

Qualifications for Deacons

• 🧐 Deacons are also to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
• 🧠 They must hold to the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
• 🔍 Deacons must first be tested and proven before they can serve.

Qualifications for Wives of Deacons

• 👩‍💼 Wives of deacons should be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers, but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 They, along with their husbands, must manage their children and household well.

The Church as Foundation of Truth

• 🏛️ The church is described as the pillar and foundation of truth, the household of the living God.
• 🙏 The chapter concludes with a doxology praising Jesus Christ's appearance, vindication, and ascension, highlighting the mystery of godliness.
• 🌱 Leaders should build the church with the best materials, taking their calling seriously and living lives worthy of it.
