How to Set Up and Configure the Portable Hotspot on HONOR Magic8 Lite

Accessing and Enabling the Hotspot

• 👆 Swipe down from the top right of your HONOR Magic8 Lite screen to access toggles.
• ➡️ Swipe down again to expand the list of toggles and locate the Hotspot option.
• ✏️ If the Hotspot toggle is not visible, tap the pencil icon to edit shortcuts, then drag the Hotspot toggle from the available list to your active toggles.

Configuring Hotspot Settings

• 🔑 Access Hotspot settings by holding down the Hotspot toggle.
• 🔒 The default password is randomly generated; navigate to settings to change the hotspot password to one with at least eight characters.
• 📡 Under 'More' settings, you can edit the AP band, choosing between 2.4GHz (more compatible) and 5GHz (faster, for newer devices).
• ⏳ Adjust the Duration setting to control how long the hotspot remains active after inactivity, with longer durations recommended to prevent premature shut-off.

Managing Hotspot Usage

• 💡 The hotspot consumes significant battery; manually turn it off when not in use to conserve power, rather than waiting for the inactivity timer.
• 📶 To activate the hotspot, simply tap the toggle in the Quick Settings panel.
• ⚠️ Be aware that inactivity auto-off is based on connection usage, not device connection, which can lead to unexpected shutdowns during tasks like reading articles.
