HONOR Magic8 Pro: How to Enable and Set Up Your Portable Hotspot

Accessing Hotspot Settings

• 👆 Swipe down from the top right of your HONOR Magic8 Pro screen to access Quick Settings and locate the hotspot toggle.
• ➕ If the hotspot toggle is not visible, you may need to add it by selecting 'Add a tile' and choosing it from the available options.
• 🔧 To access detailed settings, hold down the hotspot toggle instead of just tapping it.

Configuring Your Hotspot

• 🔑 You can set a custom password for your hotspot, which must be at least eight characters long, including letters and numbers.
• 📶 Choose between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
  • 🌐 2.4 GHz is recommended for broader compatibility with most devices.
  • 🚀 5 GHz offers wider bandwidth and can be better in crowded areas, but requires devices that support Wi-Fi 6 (or 5 GHz).
• ⏳ Adjust the inactivity duration to prevent the hotspot from automatically turning off; a setting of 30 minutes is suggested to avoid interruptions.

Using and Managing Your Hotspot

• ▶️ To enable the hotspot, simply tap the toggle in Quick Settings.
• 📱 Other devices can then connect by finding your HONOR Magic8 Pro in their Wi-Fi network list.
• 🔋 To conserve battery life, it's advisable to manually turn off the hotspot when not in use, rather than waiting for the inactivity timer.
