Harris County SWAT Responds to Barricaded Suspect, Fatal Shooting

Standoff and Initial Response

• 🚨 At approximately 11:56 PM, Harris County Sheriff's Office received a call for a possible welfare check or disturbance in northeast Harris County.
• 👮 Units arrived at 12:04 AM, made entry into the home, and discovered a suspect barricaded in a bedroom with a Hispanic female.
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All family members, including children, were safely evacuated from the residence by responding deputies.

SWAT Intervention and Discovery

• ⚔️ SWAT was called to the scene due to the barricaded suspect and arrived around 1:11 AM.
• 💥 At approximately 2:02 AM, SWAT breached the bedroom door.
• 💔 Inside, they found the female deceased from a gunshot wound and the male with a critical gunshot wound to the head.

Investigation Details

• 🏥 The male suspect was transported to Memorial Hermann downtown and is in unknown but expected to survive condition.
• 🔍 Homicide investigators and the crime scene unit are actively investigating the incident.
• 🔫 A firearm was recovered, and both the female and the suspect sustained gunshot wounds.
• 💔 The relationship between the male and female is believed to be that of a suspect and his girlfriend, and they both reportedly lived at the house.
• ⚠️ A previous call for service at the address for a terroristic threat, approximately a year to a year and a half ago, is being investigated to determine if it involved the same individual.
